KAN project coordinator role

Koala Action Network (KAN) Far South Coast (https://www.koalaactionnetwork.org) is seeking expressions of interest for a part time project coordinator with confidence in stakeholder engagement (or similar experience). The role is a part time contract, ideally with a capacity to work 6-7 hrs per week, for up to 5 months with some flexibility to manage your own work hours. The hourly rate will be $40-$50 per hour, depending on experience.

The successful applicant will be responsible for facilitating efficient teamwork and projects to enhance KAN’s ongoing community engagement, to strengthen the local community’s ability to connect with, and contribute to local koala conservation.

Assumed skills, tools and experience

  • Experience in coordinating projects, team administration and stakeholder engagement
  • Access to computer and internet (work from home office is preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Competent written and spoken communications
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to adapt communication style to suit your audience
  • Experience in networking and relationship building
  • Record management, with strong organisational and time management skills 
  • Experience in working with online office applications, such as Google docs, Microsoft Office Suite

Description of role and responsibilities

  1. Coordinate meetings with other organisations
  2. Establish an online volunteer management system
  3. Upgrade the look and functionality of the website (for stakeholders)
  4. Organise promotional materials e.g. brochures, posters, banners, etc.
  5. Identify and help apply for grants
  6. Facilitate a review of KANs role and operational principles
  7. Liaise with KAN core members as new issues arise
  8. Other miscellaneous administrative duties as required
